Half Uma Rupia of Indo-Portuguese Goa

This silver half Uma rupia of Goa was issued in the reign of King Luis I, he was the member of the House of Braganza, and King of Portugal and the Algarves from 1861 to 1889.The obverse of this coin depicts a bust of the king facing right with the legend ‘LUDOVICUS.I.PORTUG: ET ALGARB: REX’ and date inscribed around it within the toothed rim. The reverse of this coin depicts crowned Portuguese coat of arms with legend ‘INDIA PORTUGUEZA’ inscribed above it and denomination ‘Uma Rupia’ depicted below it within the toothed rim.
