New Security Features on 50 Rs. Notes

The Reserve Bank of India will issue new banknotes in Rs. 50 denomination in Mahatma Gandhi Series, 2005. The numerals in both the number panels would be in ascending size from left to right while the prefix will remain constant in size. These banknotes will also have inset letter 'R' and bear the signature of Dr. Raghuram G.Rajan, Governor, ‘Reserve Bank of India’, and the year of printing '2015' would be printed on the reverse. The rest of the designs remain the same. All the bank notes in the denomination of Rs. 50 issued in the past will continue to be legal tender.Latest News
