Nasik Dhol Featured on a Special Cover of Mahapex 2016

A Special Cover Featuring Nasik Dhol was issued during Mahapex 2016 held at Nasik. Mahapex-2016, Maharashtra State Level Philatelic Exhibition was held from 16th to 18th January 2016 at Nasik.During the occasion, two special covers were issued. One of them featured Nasik Dhol.
Nasik Dhol is a special form of rhythmic music played with the big drums or locally known as dhols. It is a musical instrument belonging to the Membranophone Category.
It is popular all over Maharashtra for creating a rhythmic and exhilarating atmosphere and has become the cultural identity of Maharashtra's celebrations.
Nasik Dhol encompasses several other musical instruments like Tashas, Zanzars, electrical Bul-Bul or the recent version of it - electronic piano.
A Special Cover on Nasik Dhol was released after a great performance of Nasik Dhol band on 18th January 2016 at Mahapex 2016 with a stamp of Childern’s Day on top right corner issued in 2015.
