Today being the 105th birth anniversary of Ronald Reagan, United States Mint and the Ronald Reagan Foundation will unveil final designs for the Ronald Reagan Presidential $1 Coin and Nancy Reagan First Spouse Coin. Artist renderings of candidate designs of the same were revealed last year.

Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois on 6th February 1911 and served as the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989.

The two coins mark the last released in both, the Presidential $1 Coin and First Spouse Gold Coin programs, authorized under The Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005. This series was introduced in 2007 and has commemorated former First Ladies and deceased U.S. Presidents in the order they served in office. The Reagan coins will be featured in a variety of U.S. Mint products throughout 2016.

Apart from the release of these coins, other celebrations are also scheduled.
