Remembering The Martyr Gandhi – Swachh Bharat Stamp
2016-01-30 Sat
In memory of the countless sacrifices by the father of our nation – Mahatma Gandhi, a special set of commemorative stamps were issued last year on 30th January. Three notable cabinet ministers released these stamps on the theme of Swachh Bharat on Martyrs Day in 2015.The interesting aspect of this issue was that the designs were selected on the basis of a painting competition that was held among children on the same theme. The idea was to inspire the youth towards building a cleaner India. Mahatma Gandhi always worked actively for spreading this noble message throughout his life. It was a very unique way to give him a tribute like this on Martyr’s day indeed.
