Latvia Issues "The Old Man’s Mitten" Coin

Latvia will issue the third coin in the Fairy Tale Coin series, a new 5-euro coin called “The Old Man's Mitten" on 28th March. The tale talks about an old man’s glove and gives out a universal message about compassion, happiness, wise-living, respect for all living things, helping the needy and more.The obverse depicts a colourful glove with legs of a bear and a wolf coming out; a fly, a rabbit and a mouse. The reverse features the central characters of the fairy tale, bear, wolf, mouse, rabbit and the fly. The mintage limit for the coin is set as 10,000 and each coin can be purchased for 47 euros.
