Chicago World Coin Auction Open for Bidding

Heritage’s first Chicago Coin Expo World and Ancient Coin Auction will be held from 7th to 11th April at the Chicago Cultural Centre. The auction will offer coins like circa 660 BCE electrum issues from Ionia and Lydia in different denominations. Rare "white gold" pieces and "typeless" issues with simple striations and other designs, a rare sixth-stater and fractions depicting animals and mythological creatures will also be offered. The first coins of the world, staters of the Lydian King Croesus in high-grade of "heavy" and "light" varieties will be offered.

A silver denarii of the first Twelve Caesars and Paul Balla coins, a Hungarian who collected coins between the 1920s and the '60s, coins of Late Roman and Byzantine gold, including Empress Irene coins, the Schroeder Collection of Canadian Coins, collections of Pittman, Norweb, Belzberg, Temple etc, "Augstinus" Iturbide 8 Escudos, graded MS61 by NGC, the only Mint State graded example of this rare error coin, Adelaide Pound of Australia in Mint State, rare Russian medals, including two in gold, are the other special coins that will be offered.
