10 Years of Euro Coinage Celebrated on a Coin

Slovenia adopted euro currency 10 years ago and to celebrate this event a circulating 8.5 gms ringed-bimetallic commemorative €2 coin will be released in 2017. 1 million coin-samples were released in January.On the obverse, 10 flying swallows create a circle and an inscription translates to “10 years of the common European currency.” Other inscriptions include the country’s name and the year date of issue. The reverse features the common European map design. The 12 stars of the European flag are inscribed on both sides.
