Burj Khalifa Officially Opens!

Burj Khalifa (Khalifa tower) officially opens in Dubai on 4th January 2010. At 2,722 ft (829.8 m) it is world’s tallest man-made structure.The construction of Burj Khalifa began in 2004, with the exterior completed in 2009. The building was named in honour of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith and the building has received many awards.
To commemorate the official opening of the Burj Khalifa Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority (DMCC) in 2011 unveiled a 141.7 g. (five-ounce) coin prototype of the first gold bullion coin in the UAE.
The "Khalifa” coin features a portrait of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa on one side, and on the other, Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower.
