China Delivers Nepalese Currency

The first batch of 1,000-rupee denomination currency notes worth 28.4 billion rupees was delivered by China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation (CBPM) Nanchang, China to Nepal on 16th January. The contract for printing 200 million 1,000-rupee notes was given to CBPM in August 2016.Officials said that the entire printing process including material and technology was done locally. The notes make use of world-class anti-counterfeiting and design technology. Counterfeit notes and fake money drawn from ATMs are found in China as well.
