Test Strike of Silver Krugerrand on Display

The Florida United Numismatists (F.U.N.) Show in Fort Lauderdale, Florida showcased a test strike of the first-ever silver Krugerrand on 6th January. The South African Mint coin was available for purchase in North America from 5th December. But the coins that arrived had some damage which occurred during transit. The release was postponed for a later date instead of replacing the damaged coins.The 50th anniversary of the gold Krugerrand or the world’s first modern gold bullion coin is celebrated on 2017. After the Krugerrand was released in 1967, the trend of bullion coins picked up. Only gold Krugerrands have been issued till now but special 1 million silver coins have been released this year,
