Did you know that Bangladesh issued a banknote to celebrate the 25th anniversary of an institution that prints banknotes in Bangladesh?Cool way to commemorate an anniversary with its own banknotes, isn’t it?
The banknotes in Bangladesh are printed by the Security Printing Corporation of Bangladesh, a company which was founded in 1988. The Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Ltd. (SPCBL) is the main printer of banknotes and government postal stamps in Bangladesh. This corporation also prints stamps for Nepal. In 2013 to celebrate its 25th anniversary a commemorative 25 Taka note was issued which depicts its headquarters on the reverse.
It is also the first note to depict stamps and other notes on it!
The obverse of the note features the National Martyr's Monument in Savar, other Bangladeshi taka banknotes and postage stamps along with three spotted deer, magpie robin (Doyle) bird. The note sports a colourful hue with different shades of pink, purple, light blue and white. The reverse side of the note features the Headquarters of the Security Printing Corporation with the country’s flag unfurled in front of it.
