The 2017 Dollar Circulation Coin Design issued under the theme Our Achievements features major landmarks of Canada.

Designed by Wesley Klassen, the coin depicts engineering wonders that span across Canada from east to west. Lion’s Gate Bridge, a prairie grain elevator, the CN Tower, Quebec City’s majestic Chateau Frontenac Hotel and an East Coast lighthouse are the structures depicted on the new coin.

The designer revealed that the images are related to the railroad for which Canadians are always grateful. Other inscriptions include CANADA, 1867-2017, DOLLAR and WK for Klassen’s initials.
