The Aussie wild dog, popularly known as dingo will be featured on the 10th and the last Animal Reverse Proof 2016 .999 fine silver dollar in the Australian map-shaped coin series which began in 2012.The dingo is an ancient wild dog which is only found in Australia. Experts believed that they arrived with humans from Southeast Asia thousands of years ago when dogs were not domesticated and were closer to Asian gray wolf parent species - Canis lupus.
Since that time, these dogs adjusted themselves as per the Australian ecology to develop some distinct features.
The reverse features a coloured image of Dingo in a rocky desert. Other inscriptions include 1 OZ 999 SILVER, The Perth Mint P Mint mark, DINGO and 2016. The obverse features the common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The mintage limit of the 31.135 grams coin is 6,000 pieces and it can be purchased for $69.95. Discount offers are available for bulk orders.
