He is Back! Soccer Star Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Swedish Stamp

They say that “He is back” and back not only in style but in supreme form too. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the 36-year-old football superstar was born on 3rd October 1981, in Malmo, Sweden.

His professional football career started with his home club Malmo FF. After spotting his golden talent, he was selected by top clubs like Ajax, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona and finally by PSV in 2012 where he was firing goals like a machine gun, striking 113 goals in 122 matches. The Barcelona team won the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup in 2009. In 2012, Ibrahimovic scored all four goals for Sweden and won the match 4-2 against England. One of them was a stunning bicycle kick from 35 yards out.

He announced his retirement from Swedish team and PSV and joined Manchester United in England this season. On 27th March 2014, the Sweden Post issued a set of five letter rate stamps featuring their national hero Ibrahimovic, as per public demand and called him Sweden’s greatest soccer player of all time. Ibrahimovic expressed his excitement and stated that he is very happy for being appreciated this way at a national level.
