Bahmani Sultan Gold Tanka sold for 26,000

Shams Al-Din Muhammad Shah III (867-887, AD 1463-1482) was the sultan of Bahmani Sultanate, a Muslim state of the Deccan in South India. It was one of the great medieval Indian kingdoms. Shams Al-Din Muhammad Shah III has struck coins in gold, silver, and copper.One of his gold tanka which weighs around 11g minted in Hazrat Muhammadabad mint was sold for INR 26,000 at Todywalla Auctions on 25th Jan 2011 held in Nagpur. This coin reads as “Al-mutasim billah Abul -muzaffar shams al-dunya wa al din” in the obverse and “Muhammad Shah bin humayun shah Al-Sultan" Khallada mulkahu” on the reverse within square borders. This is a scarce coin in fine+ condition.
The legend ‘khallada mulkahu’ is found on the tanka and some copper coins, and the legend ‘Abul-Muzaffar’ in found on the tanka coins.
