8 Gram Gold Coins To Be Offered to 12,500 Women

The Tamil Nadu government's Marriage Assistance Scheme was inaugurated by J Jayalalithaa on Thursday by giving away 8-gram gold coins to five beneficiaries from Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar. As per the scheme, these coins would be distributed to a total of 12,500 women.The scheme has a budget of Rs 204 crore. 1.4 lakh beneficiaries, who had registered earlier, would be getting only four grams of gold.
Since 2011, the AIADMK government is offering Rs 25,000 and a four-gram gold coin to women who studied up to Class 10 and above. Women graduates or diploma holders have been given Rs 50,000 along with a gold coin for their marriages.
