2016-S Enhanced Uncirculated Native American $1 Coin

2016-09-17 Sat

The 2016 American $1 Coin and Currency Sets contain a 2016 Enhanced Uncirculated Native American $1 Coin from San Francisco and an uncirculated Series 2013 $1 note. The coin in the set is exclusive which costs $14.95, and higher graded examples are fetching a handsome amount from $22 to $36 for SP69s and from $97 to $190 for SP70s.

The details of the dies like the fields and artwork are wire-brushed and laser-frosted. The base finish is bright without all the polished characteristics of a proof coin. A laser is programmatically used to design elements at different intensities to create two contrasting frost levels.

The coin is the third issue from the series of Native American $1 Coins. It depicts two helmets with the inscriptions ‘WWI’ and ‘WWII’, and two feathers that form a ‘V’, symbolizing victory and honouring the efforts of these code talkers.

The annually changing reverse design commemorates the contributions to the United States by Native American tribes and individuals. The San Francisco’s mint mark, ‘S’, ‘2016’ and ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM’ are the other inscriptions found on the coin. 37,771 sets have been already sold as of Aug. 14 out of the total product limit of 75,000.
