The coin is designed by Paulis Lepa and struck by the UAB Lithuanian Mint. The obverse bears a QR code carrying a message for future generations of Latvia – WORK WITH COURAGE, DETERMINATION, AND RESPONSIBILITY! – along with the inscription “LATVIJA” and the year of issue ”2016”.

The reverse of the coin features 25 raised facets, the denomination “5 EUROS”, and the inscription “NACIONALAIS UZNEMEJS”. The raised facets are representative of the years dedicated to Latvian entrepreneurship. The smooth obverse is symbolic of the extensive area of work which future generations will populate with their values.

While this collector coin is legal tender in the country, it is unlikely to come into circulation. The mintage is limited to 3000 pieces and the coins are available for purchase at the Bank of Latvia’s Cashier’s offices for €67.
