Coin and Currency Exhibition-Cum-Auction at Siliguri

Coin collectors from all over the country took part in a two-day world coin and currency exhibition cum auction that was held in Siliguri, organised by Numismatic Society of Calcutta.Apart from coin collectors, a lot of school children got a chance to take a look at thousands of antique and modern coins, medals, stamps and currency notes from across the world.
26 stalls showcased coins from almost 195 countries ranging from a time period as historic as 600BC till the modern era like the Punch marked coins, gold coins of Kushan and Gupta period along with Cooch behar.
Through this event, the society aims to preserve the heritage through the study of coins.
