2017 America the Beautiful Quarters Program Coin Designs Revealed

The five new designs of the 2017-dated coins belonging to the America the Beautiful Quarters Program were officially revealed on 2nd September.

The Effigy Mounds National Monument coin reverse depicts a view of mounds in the Marching Bear Group along with the inscriptions “EFFIGY MOUNDS,” “IOWA,” “2017,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”

The Frederick Douglass National Historic Site coin features Frederick Douglass seated at a writing desk with his home in Washington, D.C. with the inscriptions “FREDERICK DOUGLASS,” “DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA,” “2017” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”.

The Ozark National Scenic Riverways coin features Alley Mill, a steel roller mill built in 1894 to convert wheat into flour. Other inscriptions include “OZARK RIVERWAYS,” “MISSOURI,” “2017” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”.

The Ellis Island (Statue of Liberty National Monument) coin features an immigrant family approaching Ellis Island with the hospital building in the background. Inscriptions include “ELLIS ISLAND,” “NEW JERSEY,” “2017,” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”.

The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park coin features George Rogers Clark leading his men through the flooded plains approaching Fort Sackville. Inscriptions include “GEORGE ROGERS CLARK,” “INDIANA,” “2017” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM”.

The obverse of the coins will feature the 1932 portrait of George Washington with the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “QUARTER DOLLAR”.
