Fiji to Release Olympics Special Coloured Coin in 2017
2016-08-29 Mon
Fiji would be celebrating their rugby sevens men's team's gold medal win at the RIO Olympics 2016 with the release the country’s first coloured commemorative circulation coins in early 2017. In July, the Reserve Bank of Fiji had approved the minting of this coin if Fiji wins a gold medal at the Rio Olympics.Officials stated that the design was being finalised and the actual completion of the coin could take around six months, depending upon the availability of a slot at the Mint. They also mentioned that since the mintage is limited, the coins would soon become a collector's item.
