The latest coin from Niue celebrates the Year of the Rooster, which would begin from January 28th, 2017, and will continue up to February 15th, 2018. So now you can buy a coin with a 2017 date in 2016!

The Proof 157.60 grams .999 fine silver $8 coin features the cock, his hen, and three chicks, minted in ultra high relief on the reverse. The rooster is adorned with 24-karat gold plating. Other inscriptions include the Chinese word “Rooster” and YEAR OF THE ROOSTER.

The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the inscriptions ‘ELIZABETH II’, the date of issue, denomination and the text ‘5 OZ 999 SILVER’.

The coin has a mintage limit of 500 pieces and each coin is numbered differently on the edge to match its certificate number. A single coin would cost $338.88 and special discounts are available if three or more coins are ordered.
