Coin Exchange Mela at Panaji

ICICI Bank Ltd organised a coin exchange mela in Sindur Business Centre, Swami Vivekanand Road, Panaji under the guidance of the Reserve Bank of India. The event was inaugurated by Shri Jaikish, General Manager and Officer-in-Charge, RBI, Foreign Exchange Department.These kinds of melas have been organised at regular intervals by the bank through which the general public get a chance to exchange soiled and mutilated currency notes and coins with fresh ones. These melas get a very good response and people from different backgrounds come in to get their currencies exchanged free of cost.
Over 80 retailers including chemists, restaurant owners, stationery & general store owners along with Goa Urban Co-op Bank Ltd. and Union Bank Ltd participated in the Panaji Coin exchange mela. Coins worth Rs. 8 lakh of Rs.10, Rs.5, Rs.2 and Re.1 were exchanged.
