New Porcelain 5 Euro Silver Latvian Coin Dedicates “Baltars”

Bank of Latvia issued a 5 euro silver collector coin dedicated to “Baltars” on 9th August. Baltars is an important part of the Latvian culture which is known for the workshop of fine china and faience painting. The coin design replicates the image of the porcelain plate “Dance” in a miniature form which was originally created by Romans Suta in 1927.The graphic mark of “Baltars” is depicted on one side of the coin and the “Dance” by Romans Suta (1927) imagery on the other side. The coin is in the shape of a flat plate.
The workshop with fine china was painted in the 1920s by Latvian painter, graphic artist and composition virtuoso Romans Suta (1896–1944) to highlight the modernism and its language of form. “Baltars” portrays the highest quality of Art Deco and is the pride of Latvian culture.
The mintage limit of the coin is 5,00o and it costs 53 euro each.
