Betty Reid Soskin Gets her Beloved Coin Back from the President
2016-08-13 Sat
94-year-old park Betty Reid Soskin was ecstatic when she received a new commemorative presidential coin as a replacement for a coin that was stolen from her home in Richmond. She received the coin from president Obama when she attended Sunday’s ceremony honouring the Port Chicago explosion of 1944 and memorial at the Concord Naval Weapon Station. It was like a dream for Betty as she never expected anything like this. Soskin is the oldest park ranger and a humble local celebrity. The original coin was presented to her in December when she was selected to introduce president Obama at the National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Officials are still looking for the culprit of the violent burglary.Latest News
