Doug Heenan – an 88 year old stamp collector has set out on a grand mission of reigniting the lost hobby of “Stamp Collecting”, especially among the youth. With this purpose, Mr. Heenan has bought more than a million stamps adding up to his pre-existing collection of 230,000 stamps.

Stamp collection is a popular hobby but mostly among the seniors. Today’s youth has no interest outside technology and are way too much away from this educating pastime making stamp collecting a lost art.

Hence, to make youth interested about philately, Doug Heenan has bought $25,001 worth of stamps in the hope of revival of stamp collecting as a pastime for the youth of his town. Fortunately he just has to sort the million stamps he bought, for which he will take help of the youngsters of the town. Mr Heenan planned to take some of the stamps to schools in the hope of educating children and sorting the stamps at the same time.

Such initiative from seniors of the country will definitely revive not only the lost arts of the community but also to sustain them.
