Canada Salutes the Police Force Through Coins

The Royal Canadian Mint recently issued the third silver coin belonging to the “National Heroes” series. This coin pays tribute to the police who dedicatedly work towards maintaining law and order in the country. They also are responsible for traffic control, crime investigations, international peacekeeping missions etc.With a team of 69,000 police officers, Canada has a ratio of 194 police officers for every 100,000 Canadians, which is comparatively higher than other western countries.
The reverse beautifully depicts a police offer on a mission using selective colour and detailed engraving. The background features a parked police car. The obverse features the common portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The mintage limit of the 15 dollars, .999 silver, 23.7 grams coloured Proof coin is just 10,000 pieces.
