1882-O Morgan Dollar Graded MS-66+ Sold for $9,900

The Legend’s online auction which was held on 19th June sold one of the finest known 1882-O Morgan dollars graded PCGS MS-66+ for $9,900. Though lower grades are more common the MS-65 and finer grades are rare. Most of these coins have a relatively weak strike.The coin offered had a rich bag toning on the obverse and a canvas pattern on the cheek and on the field. This proves that the coins were stored in canvas bags. Pastel hues in blue, gold, orange, and peach shades can also be seen. The reverse has an amber-orange-gold toning. MS-68+ example was sold for $108,687.50 last year.
