Sasanian King Shahpur I ruled from 240 CE to 270 CE, initially as co-regent with his father, Ardashir I, until the latter died in 242 CE. Shahpur I was the first Indian monarch to adopt the title "King of Kings of Iranians and Non-Iranians." before his reign, the royal title was "King of Kings of Iranians." He adopted this title in response to the influx of Roman citizens he had deported during his military campaigns. Silver Drachm of Sasanian King Shahpur I weighing 3.7g was sold for INR 36,000 in an auction held in Ahmedabad on February 08, 2025.
