Rupees 10 of Burma issued in 1938

In 1852, the British government took control of Burma. Since 1897, the Indian government has issued Indian notes in Rangoon that are comparable to Indian notes but feature Burmese languages.Indian paper money was overprinted for use in Burma in 1917 and again in 1927 until Burma became a separate colony in 1937. When Burma became a separate colony, a separate issue of paper money was made for use only in Burma.
The Reserve Bank of India issued the first regular supply of Burmese notes in values of 5, 10, 100, 1000, and 10,000 rupees in 1938.
