Texas $2 Step Currency Sets on Sale

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the production at the Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, 6,500 Texas $2 Step Currency Sets were released by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing last Tuesday. The set includes two Series 2009 $2 notes from the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank along with identical numerical serial numbers beginning with "2016xxxx".The facility started printing money in December 1990 and was officially dedicated on 26th April, 1991. Notes printed in Fort Worth have an added "FW" mark on the obverse plate number.
The special set can be purchased for $39.95. 10 sets can be bought per household till 26th July, after which they will be shipped. Orders can be placed at www.moneyfactorystore.gov, or by calling 800-456-3408.
Each note comes in a protective sleeve and is presented in a Texas-themed folder.
