Krishna Menon, Indian Defence Minister from 1957 to 1962 during Jawaharlal Nehru's ministry India on October 6, 1997. Shri V.K. Krishna Menon was born on May 3, 1896, in Panniankara, Calicut, Malabar district, Madras Presidency, British India. For political activity for India's independence, he founded the "India League" in London, which quickly became a key influence in British politics.
