On January 9, 2023, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a commemorative postage stamp "Surakshit Jaayen, Prashikshit Jaayen" to emphasize the significance of safe, legal, orderly, and skilled migration.The Government of India's flagship event Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas (PBD), offers a crucial forum for interaction and connection with Indians living abroad, as well as enabling the diaspora to communicate with one another.
The 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas was held in Indore from January 8th to 10th with the support of the Madhya Pradesh government. It was based on the subject "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal." This conference drew almost 3500 participants from 70 different nations.
