The Bank of Indonesia issued 7 different denominations of Indonesian Rupiah coins, including this 50 Rupiah coin. They are part of the Rupiah coin series from Indonesia. In 2002, the Bank of Indonesia began issuing these 50 Indonesian Rupiah coins. They are standard circulation coins.The 50 rupiah coin is the most commonly used currency in Indonesia. The aluminum coin debuted in 1999. The obverse of the Rs 50 coin has a kepodang bird sitting on a branch, as well as Indonesia's national coat of arms, Garuda Pancasila. A black-napped Oriole bird is portrayed on the reverse. The coin is round in shape.
