National Save The Eagle Day
2023-01-10 Tue
The first National Save the Eagles Day is organized by the local community and the Bergen County Audubon Society. The 10 January is National Save the Eagles Day, a day to raise awareness about eagles and express gratitude for conservation efforts to prevent their extinction. There are over sixty different species of eagles in the world. Eagles are among the strongest and most magnificent birds of prey. Bald eagles are so special that they are celebrated in the U.S. as a symbol of strength, independence, and beauty. The history of National Save the Eagles Day is an inspiring story. It started in the village of Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. It was mid-winter, the perfect nesting season for bald eagles, and a pair of eagles, fondly named Alice and Al, had nested along Overpeck Creek since 2011.On August 5, 2005, the United States of America issued its definitive stamp. The stamp series is known as Eagle. Birds, eagles, and stylized animals are among the themes. Gold and red are the colors used. The printing format is photogravure.
