Commemorative Stamp of INPEX-86
2023-01-10 Tue
The passion of philately is both fascinating and educational. The Postage Stamp portrays numerous parts of the life, culture, and legacy of diverse nations with enlivening clarity. An attempt is made to recreate a world of natural beauty and man's accomplishments in the arts, sciences, and historical events in a postage stamp show. It provides new venues for serious collectors to exhibit their holdings and makes philately more accessible to young people and newcomers.Since India gained its independence, the P&T department has led the way in philately promotion through exhibitions. The first national exhibition was conducted in 1970, the second in Calcutta in 1975, the third in Bangalore in 1977, and the last one in New Delhi in 1982 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Indian Postage Stamp Exhibition.
From February 14 to February 19, 1986, the Department of Posts in collaboration with the Philatelic Congress of India hosted the 5th Indian National Philatelic Exhibition. The show has received an overwhelmingly positive response. In over 1200 frames, 350 exhibitors presented their goods. Additionally, there were plenty of vendors, booths, and stands available.
