Commemorative Stamp of Deendayal Upadhyaya

On September 25, 1916, in the Rajasthani village of Dhankia, Deendayal Upadhyaya was born. Deendayal, whom the family referred to as Deena, lost his mother when he was just eight years old and both his parents when he was less than three years old. He was brought up and schooled in his maternal grandfather's home in trying circumstances. Deendayal gained strength from the difficulties and suffering he witnessed, and by his talent and perseverance, he was able to overcome his situation."Samrat Chandragupta," written by Deendayal Upadhyaya, appealed to young people as a historical book with a unique literary tone. His second book was titled "Jagadguru Shankaracharya." His goal was to motivate young people to reflect on the great past, take pride in it, and commit their lives to the restoration of the former splendour.
Department of Posts released the stamp commemorating Deendayal Upadhyaya on 29th December 2016, in recognization of his contribution to the field of politics, economics, and literary works.
