Silver Sharukhi of Mughal Emperor Babur

M?rz? Zah?r ud-D?n Muhammad, popularly known as Babur, was the founder of the mighty Mughal Empire. He was descended from Timur from his father's side and Genghis Khan from his mother's side.Babur founded the Mughal Empire after defeating Ibrahim Lodi, the sultan of Delhi, in the First Battle of Panipat in 1526. After sitting on the throne of the Mughal Empire, he issued silver-flat coins weighing around 72 grains (4-5) of grams called Shahrukhis. The Shahrukhis were standard coins continued by his successor Humayun and his grandson, Akbar.
This silver Sharukhi was issued by Babur during his rule in Mughal Empire. The silver Sharukhi minted in Agra weighs around 4.38g. The obverse side of this silver Sharukhi is inscribed with Kalima, and the reverse side depicts the name and title of Babur.
