Krishna Raja Wodeyar Gold Pagoda Sold For INR 33,000

This gold pagoda was issued by the monarch of the Mysore state, Krishna Raja Wodeyar. The obverse side of this gold pagoda depicts a seated Shiva-Parvati. The reverse side of this gold pagoda is inscribed with the Devanagari legend Sri Krishna Raja.Krishna Raja Wodeyar was the ruler of the Princely State of Mysore. It was formed by the British East India Company in the year 1799 after the victory of the British in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War. It remained under the indirect rule of the Company during the British Raj in India.
This gold pagoda was sold for INR 33,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on December 17, 2022.
