Commemorative stamp of Kubernath Ray

Shri Kubernath Ray was born on 26th March 1933 in the village of Matsa of Zamania Tehsil in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. He was an eminent scholar of Hindi and English, but was highly distinguished in the field of writing an essay in Hindi. About his literary compositions, he used to say that there was an expression of his inner voice and promptings which were never forced or labored. He used to say that the English language was a means of his earning needs while the Hindi language was his natural language for prayers and devotion.He served as a Lecturer and the Head of the English Department at Nalbari College in Assam during 1959-1986 and later as the Principal of Swami Sahajanand P.G. College Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh during 1986-1995, from where he retired on 30th June 1995.
Department of Posts issued a commemorative stamp of Kubernath Ray in recognizing his contributions in the fields of literature in Hindi and Sanskrit.
