2022-12-03 Sat
Young revolutionary Khudiram Bose was born on December 03, 1889, in Mohobani, Midnapore, Bengal Presidency. The British policy of partitioning Bengal in 1905 dragged him to the war of independence. He was influenced by the thought of Sir Aurobindo, and Sister Nivedita and joined Jugantar - the party of revolutionary activists, at the tender age of 16. At the age of 15, he learnt how to make a bomb.Khudiram Bose, along with Prafulla Chaki, was given a task of killing Judge Magistrate Kingsford, who was infamous for his rude behaviour towards the revolutionaries. The plan failed, and both the revolutionaries fled. Unfortunately, Khudiram Bose was arrested and sentenced to death. He was hanged to death on 11th August.
The Government of India issued his commemorative stamp in 1990 to commemorate him and his work.
