The common reverse design on the four gold 10-real coins in Brazil's 2016 Olympic Games coin features the Christ the Redeemer statue outside of Rio. Between 1922 and 1931, sculptor Paul Landowski and Gheorghe Leonida designed this masterpiece which measures 98 feet tall and stands on a 26-foot pedestal. Its arms stretch 92 feet wide. The statue is considered to be one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Other inscriptions on the reverse include the five Olympic rings, the Rio 2016 logo and the CITIUS ALTIUS FORTIUS motto of the Olympics meaning “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. The 2014 coin features an obverse design celebrating the 100-meter race.

The 2015 gold coin depicts the pole vault, and the third issue released in the same year features wrestling. The final 2016 gold coin depicts the Olympic Torch.
