The Central Bank of Egypt issued these 10 Egyptian pound Banknotes in 2001. The Central Bank of Egypt issued these banknotes in 8 different denominations, including 10 Egyptian Banknotes, under the Egyptian Pound banknotes series. These banknotes are still in circulation.The 10 Egyptian Banknotes depict Al-Rifa'i Mosque in violet-purple-coloured. Al-Rifa'i Mosque, located in Midan al-Qal'a, is adjacent to the Cairo Citadel. Today, it is also the royal mausoleum of Muhammad Ali's family. The reverse side of this coin features the statue of Pharaoh Khafre. Khafre was one of the most important, and iconic surviving sculptures from ancient Egypt.
