2016-07-21 Thu

The Stack’s Bowers Hong Kong Auction will begin on 15th August and will go on till 17th August 2016. A South Viet Nam 1000 Dong Proof in Gem Uncirculated condition would be the star note that would be offered at the event. It is the finest such note ever offered at a public auction. The note is extremely rare and hence is going to steal all the limelight.

The note is made of high paper quality and features large margins and intricate detailing. The note is also known as the “The Old Man at the Temple” which goes with the imagery that’s depicted.

Though high quality People’s Republic of China banknotes are rare, they are commonly counterfeited. PRC notes certified by grading services are rarer, like this one. The note has a minor centre-fold. Punch through embossing is visible through the holder.

Other notes that will be offered at the event are fresh and rare Chartered Bank of India, Australia, and China banknotes like a large format 1924 5 Dollar piece in Very Fine condition and the finest example of a 1928 10 Dollar note issued in Tientsin.
