The Banco Central de la República Argentina issued Argentine Peso banknotes in eight different denominations. The Argentine Two Pesos banknote was issued in 1997 and withdrawn from circulation in 2018.The front side of this banknote depicts a picture of Bartolomé Mitre. Bartolomé Mitre was the first president of Argentina between 1862 and 1868. He was the most versatile statesman, military man, soldier, politician, journalist, historian, writer and poet. The back side of this banknote depicts the Mitre Museum, named after him.
The Banco Central de la República Argentina replaces the Argentine Two Pesos banknote with a coin.
