Bengaluru Hosts Nanyadarshini 2016 at Shikshaka Sadan

Shikshaka Sadan, located at Cubbonpete, played host to Nanyadarshini 2016 from July 15 to July 17, 2016. The coin exhibition was organised by the Karnataka Numismatic Society. The coin show attracted thousands of collectors and dealers and numismatic and philatelic enthusiasts. On display were a number of Indian ancient, medieval, and colonial coins along with Indian and international paper currency.Auctions for coins and paper money were held by Marudhar Arts, Imperial Auctions, and Bombay Auctions. Imperial Auctions sold an 1835 East India Company Mohur for a whopping Rs. 10 lakh, while a Dungarpur Rajasthan gold coin was auctioned by Bombay Auctions for Rs. 6.5 lakhs.
Coin exhibitions such as Nanyadarshini provide a platform for collectors as well as dealers to come together and indulge in their favourite hobby – numismatics!
