This silver one-eight silver rupee nisar sold for INR 4,00,000 in an auction of Todywalla held in Mumbai on 17th September, 2022.Jahangir was the fourth Mughal emperor who ruled India for almost 22 years between 1605 and 1627. After sitting on the throne of Mughal Empire, he took the title Nur-ud-din Muhammad Jahangir Badshah Ghazi. He took a keen interest in art and architecture. He encouraged many artists and painters during his time and took a keen interest in Mughal art and architecture.
The obverse side of this silver coin depicts the legend ‘Jahangir Badhshah Ghazi'; with regnal year 6, at the bottom. The reverse side of this coin depicts, 'Khair Qubool’ with the AH 1020 written at the bottom.
