Higgins Museum of National Bank Notes Seminars

On 28th July, the Higgins Museum of National Bank Notes seminar is being scheduled at Okoboji, Iowa. The first presentation at the event is named “National Bank Notes; McCulloch’s Early Insights” and would be given by Wendell Wolka, the Treasury secretary who featured on some $20 national bank notes.The presentation would be about Hugh McCulloch, who appeared on the obverse of the $20 notes of the Third Charter Period and was the secretary of the Treasury from 1865 to 1869 and from 1884 to 1885. He was also the first comptroller of the currency from 1863 to 1865, a period when over 800 banks were chartered.
Other speakers would also be talking on various topics like “National Banking Inside the Treasury”, First National Bank of Harlan, Iowa, national bank note collection insights and Building Great Arizona and Wyoming National Collections.
