Pundit Suryanarayan Vyas was an Indian astrologer from Ujjain in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. He is best known for one of his predictions about 14 August 1947 and 15 August 1947 as the dates for Pakistan and Indian independence respectively. He is also known for some of his other predictions like; the deaths of Lal Bahadur Shastri and Sardar Vallabhai Patel and the emergence of India as a global power in the 21st century.Pundit Suryanarayan Vyas was also a member of the Advisory Board of the Government of Madhya Pradesh during the tenure of Govind Narayan Singh from 1967–to 1969. In 1958, he was honored with the highest civilian award the Padma Bhushan for his contribution to astrology by the Indian Government.
